The Fascination with Blue

The Fascination with Blue

The color blue has captivated humans for millennia. From ancient lapis lazuli to contemporary fashion, this color’s enduring appeal is undeniable. Its evolution across time offers a compelling study in aesthetics and culture.

Blue, linked to luxury, has ancient roots. Revered by Egyptians as a symbol of royalty and divinity, it emerged 6,000 years ago with lapis lazuli mining in Northeast Afghanistan. This rare stone was ground into a costly pigment reserved for objects of the highest status and spiritual significance.

Something Blue and New

This month, we’re introducing Ming, a rare blue color that is not as popular as the more common shades of blue like navy, slate and sky blue. Ming is a muted, less saturated type of blue which makes it an ideal companion to our favorite watch dials.

It best complements neutral shades like cappuccino, truffle and taupe while warm tones like brown and moss green look pleasing to the eye when matched with Ming.

Our Ming watch strap comes in two styles: the Classic, a full leather strap for everyday wear, and the Classic Fit, a durable leather strap with silicone lining for active lifestyles. Both are available in 20x16 and 22x18 sizes.
